Raleigh, N.C., February 6, 1918.

Gen. George W. McIver,
Camp Jackson,
Columbia, S.C.

Two of the most patriotic and most influential negroes in the State of North Carolina would like to visit Camp Jackson next Sunday, and make short, patriotic speeches to the negro regiment there.1 I believe this would be a fine thing for the general situation amongst the negroes in this State. If this is entirely agreeable please wire me and I will send them down.

T. W. Bickett,
Governor.

(Charge Executive Dept. State N.C.)

1. The two men referred to here are Berry O'Kelly and James Hunter Young.
