The Adjutant General’s Department.

1. The assignment of serial numbers under Section 65, and other matters connected with the execution of the Regulations relating to registration embraced in Part 3 of the Regulations. (Now Mr. Malone’s Department)

2. Part 4 of the Regulations relating to delinquents and induction into military service.

3. The keeping of reports required to be kept as to quotas from time to time, and the ordering of the quotas into service.

4. (The foregoing is deemed to be necessary to be transacted in the same building with the Adjutant General)

5. The general correspondence relating to special cases and specific detailes to be handled by m under the direction of the Adjutant General. 

(This work will be conducted in the office now used by Mr. Mitchell in Legislative Hall)

The foregoing work will require the following help and the same is deemed absolutely necessary to the adequate performance of the work, tp-wit:

Major Langston’s Department.

1. Propaganda to Local Boards
Propaganda to District Boards
Propaganda to Legal Advisory Boards
Propaganda to Government Appeal Agents
Propaganda to Medical Advisory Boards

(The necessity for daily propaganda is apparent from daily enquiries that come into the office)

2. Organization of Boards, Local, District, Legal Advisory, Government Appeal Agents.

3. Organization of Inspectors and direction of their energies along the proper lines and at the points where most needed.

4. The giving of legal opinions upon proposotions connected with the Regulations to the heads of the various deparmtnets upon their request.

There will be needed in this Department which is under the supervision of the Special Aide to the Governor, one stenographer and one filing clerk. The Adjutant General’s Department to be furnished with copies of the necessary propaganda, and the department to be furnished with the various bulletins issued from the Adjutant General’s Department.

5. Supervision of the disbursement of the funds in connection with the administration of the Selective Service Regulations.

6. Supervision as Special Aide to the Governor and as Disbursing Officer over the authorizations and estimates of expenses of the various Boards.

7. The furnishing to the Provost Marshal General the necessary reports relating to the foregoing work.

The foregoing work will require the following help:
