September 9th, 1918.

Mr. T. L. Johnson,
Lumberton, N.C.

My dear Johnson:-

In the absence of the Governor I beg to acknowledge receipt of your letter of September 5th enclosing letter addressed to Capt. McCargo. Governor Bickett is in the mountains for a month and will not return to the office until the first week in October. I have taken this matter up with the Adjutant General’s office, and find that he is in communication with the Commander at Camp Wadsworth, and I feel sure that everything will be straightened out to your satisfaction.

Very truly yours,

Private Secretary.
