DEPARTMENT OF LABOR
OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY
WASHINGTON

PERSONAL AND CONFIDENTIAL

July 3, 1919.

To His Excellency,
Governor T. W. Bickett,
State Capitol,
Raleigh, N.C.

My dear Governor Bickett:

I have the honor to enclose herewith a draft copy of a letter which is now in circulation among our leading men and women throughout the State, which will later be submitted to you in appreciation of the patriotic services you are continually rendering to the people of North Carolina; and, especially for your devotion to Justice and your generosity and friendliness toward our race.

Insasmuch as you are being annoyed by those who are seeking to bring pressure to bear in order to thwart the ends of Justice, I am sending this advance notice that you may know how one body of North Carolina citizens feel about the matter. I trust, however, that this early notice will not rob you of any interest that the document, fully signed, might arouse.

Yours very truly,

A. M. Moore
