I received your Excellency's favour of the 8th. instant with the Report of the Boundary Line, for which I am much obliged, and rest it upon his Majesty's Determination what he shall think most for the Service and Benefit of both the Provinces, and shall be glad to know when you transmit it to the Lords of Trade; that I may at the same time press a speedy Determination of it, as I think it absolutely necessary for the peace and Improvement of each Province, that they may act in Conjunction to make those who live at or near the Limit amenable to the Laws of each Province, and to give proper Powers to the Magistrates near the Boundary to apprehend and give up to the other Province any who commit Crimes and fly into the other province. I am preparing to send the two Companies by Water to Charles Town, of which I acquaint Coll: Bouquet. I see by a Liverpool Paper that the Parliament have given £50,000 to Lord Loudoun to distribute among the Provinces of Virginia and the Carolinas, so hope it will answer our Remittances, and get us a Credit in the mean time . I have given Orders to Mr. Brown to go up and discharge the Workmen at the Fort. We have no News yet of Lord Loudoun's Motions from Halifax.
