May it please Your Excellency,

Having had the Misfortune to lose several of the Arms belonging to the Company by Deserters who carried the same away, and some being lost at the Engagement under General Braddock, I must beg your Excellency will be pleased to order me other Arms for the use of such of ^my^ Company as are without. I must also acquaint your Excellency that I think it will be prudent to have a few spare Arms against any Accident or Emergency; Therefore if your Excellency will be pleased to order me fifty Arms and Acoutrements, I believe that Number will answer the above Purposes. This I submit to your Excellency's Consideration, and am,

Your Excellency's

most obedient and

most hble Servt.
