I have the Pleasure to acqu[ain]t You that the Transports from Ireld. are all arrived. The Forces in perfect good Health not one sick, they are ordered for Alexa[ndri]a. for which Place I proceed To morrow with Genl Braddock, he has sent for Govr. Shirley to meet him at Annapolis when I believe the Plan of Operats. will be concerted & on my return shall write You & hope Your Son with his Co[mpan]y will soon be at Alexa[ndri]a. The Bearer Capt. Dalrymple is appointed Commander of Johnston's Fort in yr. Province by Genl Braddock, he wd. have been appointed at Home but a Delicacy in regard to Mr. Braddock prevailed, he is recommended by Ld. Halifax Anson & several others to me & the Genl. I recommend him to Your Ldship & hope your Assembly will allow him so much ⅌ An. Your Message to Your Assembly is very proper & well wrote but too long for our News Paper, I therefore took the Liberty of incertg. some Paragraphs as in that Channel it will be more universally seen. I must refer You to Colo. Hunter's Let. enclosed in reg[ar]d to Your Pork & Beef. I think You have provided sufficient Proviss. for the Troops for six Mos. Mr. Littleton Bro. to Sr. Geo. is appointed Govr. of So. Carolina & will be very soon there. Mr. Glen's saying there was no prest. Emergency for raising of Money is surprizing to me. I fear there are no more Tents come in there for the Troops from Britn. I have made 40 here & ordered 60 from Eng. for our Forces. I have Powder & Ball at Hampton belonging to your Coly. I shall order Colo. Hunter to let them have what may be necessary, & You may hereafter replace it or pay the Cost thereof. I have present'd your Complimts. to General Braddock & desires his to You. My Wife & Girls join me in kind Respects to Your Son & Nephew & I am with Sincerity & in great Truth
