My dear Governor Craig:-
My son, George M. Pritchard, who, as you know, has had considerable military training at West Point, is exceedingly anxious to raise a Company or Troop, in the event war should be declared against Mexico, and would like to be commissioned as Captain of the Company.
I am proud of my son's patriotic spirit and willingness to fight for his Government.
