State of Georgia
Executive Department
Atlanta

October 18th, 1920.

Hon. Thos. W. Bickett,
Governor of North Carolina,
Raleigh, N.C.

Dear Sir:

The newspapers carried an item several months ago, in which it was stated that you had refused the Ku Klux the right to parade in your State or that you had disbanded them.

I have been approached recently with reference to taking similar action. We have no law in Georgia that would authorize any such act on my part. I presume that you must have acted under some statute. Will you kindly let me know whether or not you acted under any special authority or not.

Thanking you in advance and with best wishes,

Yours truly,

Hugh Dorsey
Governor.
