As a lover of North Carolina desiring only her good, let me implore members of legislature: ratify the amendment. California, with its cosmopolitan population, enjoys betters laws for protection of women and children. That North Carolina, with her eighty percent American population, all because the vote given women, has developed responsibility for the law of the state, eliminating the only foe to progress the little party politician and greed of capital. Give the North Carolina woman the right to defend her offspring legally as well as physically.
