February 2nd, 1920.

Gen. Julian S. Carr,
Durham, N.C.

My dear General Carr:-

Miss Martha Haywood has called my attention to your letter to Col. Armistead Jones, and I want to beg you not to resign as a Director of the Soldiers' Home at this time. I believe that matters can be straightened out there, and I certainly hope that you and Mr. Jones will remain on the Board until the end of my administration. I believe that if you and Colonel Jones would have a conference with Col. Wood that you three could get together. It is not necessary for me to say to you that Col. Wood is very fond of you and wants to meet your wishes whenever he can do so.

With kind regards, and always wishing you every happiness, I beg to remain,

Sincerely yours,

[unsigned]
