Number eighteen hundred twenty five. The President has this day made the following appointments to district board in your state. Eastern District: C. D. Brabam, John D. Langston, Doctor Charles O. H. Laughinghouse, E. R. Pace, and A. W. Pate. Western District: W. B. Gibson, O. R. Jarrett, Doctor John Wesley Long, R. B. Redwine, and W. N. Reynolds. Please write a letter to each appointee designating the earliest practicable time and the most convenient place of first meeting in terms substantially as follows “By direction of the President you are hereby notified that on the blank day of blank nineteen seventeen you were appointed by the President as a member of the district board for blank state of blank. The first meeting of the board is hereby called by the direction of the President at the city of blank at blank AM on the blank day of blank. I enclose a blank oath of office and copy of regulations. Please accomplish the oath of office and deliver the same to the board at your first meeting. As soon as the board has meet and directed upon its permanent headquarters copies of all necessary forms will be supplied”. Add such urging of expedition as you may see fit. Request board to decide on ths place of permanent headquarters at first meeting and to provide an office and inform you of the address in order that you may promptly arrange for the supply of forms. Letter follows.
