To his Excellancy Arthur Dobbs Esqr. Governor and Commander In Cheif of the Colony of North Carolina

Wee the Magistrates of The County Of Currituck your Excellencys most Dutyfull and Loyall Subjects Under God and the King Most humbly remonstrate—

That For Several Years Thomas Williams Esqr. One of the Justices of the Peace for this County has Enjoyed The Registers Office and Performed his Duty To the Good Likeing and Approbation Of the County in General

And as Wee Labour under Many Inconveniencys (Perhaps as yet Unforseen to yr. Excellency) and are Sadled with great Encumbrancys By having the Said Office moved Out of the County and at So great a Distance from us,

Therefore Wee humbly hope According to your Wonted Goodness You will Take Our Misfortune into Your Consideration and releave us From those Encumbrancys Wee are hereby Subjected

And your Petitioners Will Ever Pray &c.
