Hon. E. F. Watson,
Burnsville, N.C.

Dear Sir:

Your letter of August 15th received. The Governor is at present in the western part of the State and will not return for two or three weeks.

The vouchers you speak of were forwarded by Mr. J. Bis Ray to the Governor some time ago. These vouchers were properly approved by Mr. Blackstock, Chairman of the Mitchells Peak Park commission, and they were promptly approved by the Governor upon their receipt and sent by him to the State Auditor in order that there might be no delay in the payment of this money. Upon the receipt of your letter today I made inquiry at the office of the Auditor who has handed me a warrant for the amount of these vouchers, $3,564.25. As this warrant is made out to Louis English, Clerk of the Superior Court of Yancey County, I am sending it to him by this mail.

I regret exceedingly that there has been any delay in this matter and that is has caused you inconvenience.

Yours very truly,

Private Secretary.
