CLERK SUPERIOR COURT
OF DUPLIN COUNTY

Kenansville, N.C., July 28th, 1920.

Gov. T. W. Bickett,
Raleigh, N.C.

My dear Governor:-

Following a very able charge to the Grand Jury of Duplin Court this week, by Judge Geo. W. Connor, condemning the recent lynchings in the State, and bringing to the attention of the Jury and people the efforts you are making to uphold law and order in the State; the Grand Jury took cognizance of this vital matter, and herewith I enclose a copy of their report relative thereto, in which you may be interested to know that the citizenship of this county endorse your action and are standing for law and order.

Respectfully,

R. V. Wells
Clerk Superior Court of Duplin County
