Biographical Description

Charles Whitlock Banner was born on April 29, 1867, in Mt. Airy, North Carolina. Banner was a physician and surgeon who specialized in ear, eye, nose, and throat diseases. During World War I, he served on the Committee of American Physicians and guided the state's mobilization of medical resources in support of the war effort. He died in Greensboro on August 30, 1964.
