Biographical Description

William Proctor Gould Harding was born in Greene County, Alabama, in May 5, 1864. He served as a member of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, D.C., beginning in 1914, ascending to the chairmanship in August 1916. His term ended in 1922. Harding died in Boston, Massachusetts, on April 7, 1930.
