Eliza T. Newcomb (née Leach) was born on May 31, 1897, in North Carolina. Prior to her marriage to Robert Timberlake Newcomb in 1921, Eliza worked as a file clerk in the North Carolina Adjutant General's Office and later as a stenographer in the U.S. Marshall's office. Newcomb died on July 14, 1895, and is interred in Raleigh, North Carolina.
