Lessie Carmine Query (née Hendren) was born in North Carolina on May 5, 1890. Prior to her marriage to Thomas Lester Query, Lessie was a resident of Winston-Salem where she worked as a clerk for the R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. She graduated from nursing school in 1919 and earned her license that same year. During her married life, she lived in Alexander and Caldwell Counties. She died in Charlotte (Mecklenburg County) on August 22, 1982.
