Reuben Jones was born in Wilkes County, Georgia on November 7, 1825. The great grandson of Peter and Margaret Strozier, in 1854 he made a sworn affidavit to the pension office stating that Margaret Strozier died in 1842. He later represented Baker County, Georgia in the Georgia State Senate. He died in Atlanta, Georgia on October 31, 1892.
