Wynn, Charles Stewart
Born August 1, 1888, in Powellsville, North Carolina. In April 1917, Wynn joined fellow students and faculty of his school (the Negro Agricultural and Technical College of North Carolina) in signing and submitting tot he governor a resolution proclaiming loyalty to the United States and pledging support for the American declaration of war on Germany. In September 1935, he was among twenty-seven black professionals appointed to serve as agents of the Agricultural Extension Service, stewarded by North Carolina State College (now North Carolina State University); he was stationed in Warrenton.
