David Franklin Caldwell was born in Guilford County, North Carolina, on November 5th, 1814. Caldwell was a businessman, newspaper editor, and politician. He was a Private in the Confederate Army. Caldwell died in Guilford County, North Carolina, on December 29th, 1898.
