Biographical Description

Edwin Courtland Dinwiddie was born on September 29, 1867, in Springfield, Ohio. Dinwiddie was a minister who served as legislative superintendent of the Anti-Saloon League. His work was influential in the fight for securing the passage of the 18th amendment to the U. S. Constitution (known generally as the prohibition amendment), which outlawed alcohol throughout the nation. He died in 1935.
