Biographical Description

Amos Graves Cox was born on July 12, 1855, in Pitt County, North Carolina. Cox was a prominent businessman and landowner in Winterville, North Carolina, a town which he helped establish. During World War I, he served on the Exemption Board for Pitt County. Cox died in Winterville on November 4, 1929.
