Biographical Description

William Harrison (1730-1814) was an Anglican minister who was ordained in 1756. That same year, royal governor Arthur Dobbs wrote a letter to Thomas Sherlock, the Bishop of London, recommending the establishment of a public school at New Bern and the appointment of Harrison as schoolmaster. It is unclear if the school ever materialized. Harrison had moved on to Virginia by the early 1760s. He died in Petersburg in 1814.
