Biographical Description

Nathaniel Rice (died 1753) was a colonial official who served as a member of the North Carolina Council (1730-1752) and as the Council's president (1752-1753). Upon the death of royal governor Gabriel Johnston in 1752, Rice became chief executive of the colony, but he too died shortly thereafter.
