Biographical Description

Augustus Canfield Macomb was born on October 17, 1854 in Detroit, Michigan. Macomb was a career army officer who served during the Spanish American War and World War I. During World War I, he was for a time commander of Camp Greene outside of Charlotte, North Carolina. Macomb died in Washington, D.C. on January 2, 1932.
