Biographical Description

Jonathan Dawley (d. 1786) was a resident of Princess Anne, Virginia. In February 1777 he witnessed Francis Williamson cast bullets in support of the loyalist cause and Dawley later testified about what he knew. Later that year he joined the 4th Virginia Regiment of the Continental Army and continued to support the cause of independence.
