Biographical Description

John Garrett was a resident of Tyrrell County. In 1777 he, along with his father and several other family members, became a member of the Gourd Patch Conspiracy after they were recruited by his uncle John Garrett and made secret oaths of loyalty to the plot before Daniel Leggett. No further records have been found suggesting that John Garrett made a deposition or faced charges for his involvement in the plot.
