Biographical Description

Benjamin Moss was a resident of Tyrrell County. In 1777 he swore an oath of secrecy and became a member of the Gourd Patch Conspiracy. He was hesitant however, and did not involve himself any further after taking the first oath, as he "was afraid there was mischief in it." He later made a deposition explaining everything he knew of the plot.
