Biographical Description
William Ernest Thompson was born on July 6, 1890, in Chatham County, North Carolina. Thompson was an furniture merchant, undertaker, and funeral director in Graham, North Carolina. In August 1920, he provided testimony in an investigation into an attempted lynching in the town. Thompson died in Graham on April 24, 1948.
