Biographical Description

Charles Cornwallis, 1st Marquess Cornwallis (31 December 1738-5 October 1805) was a British general during the American Revolution, primarily leading troops on campaigns in the southern colonies. He surrendered at the Battle of Yorktown in Virginia in October 1781.
