Biographical Description

William Cox Redfield was born on June 18, 1858, in Albany, New York. Redfield, a northern politician affiliated with the Democratic Party, is best remembered for his tenure as the U.S. Secretary of Commerce from 1913 to 1919 under the administration of President Woodrow Wilson. He died in New York on June 13, 1932.
