Biographical Description
Jesse Saunders was born in Virginia on July 22, 1743. A resident of Granville County, North Carolina, from 1775 to 1776 he served as a captain in the Hillsborough District Minutemen and then in 1776 he became a captain in the 6th North Carolina Regiment of the Continental Line. He died in Georgia in about 1809.
