Biographical Description

Homer John Brown was born on January 8, 1866 in Worcester, Massachusetts. Brown served as a commissioner of conciliation for the U.S. Department of Labor. His job was to deescalate labor tensions and disputes throughout the nation. This work brought him to the Tallassee Power Company at Badin, North Carolina in June 1919. Brown died in Washington, D.C. on July 12,1944.
