Biographical Description

Sighacka Blount was an elderly Tuscarora man who had experience hunting beaver, raccoons, and deer. In 1723 he and several other Tuscarora hunters visited Richard Nixon's house on their way to a hunt. There Sighacka got into an argument with Nixon's neighbor, Christopher Dudley. Dudley struck Blount with a piece of wood, breaking the elderly man's arm. Sighacka Blount then stated that he would tell the rest of the Tuscarora what happened. Fearing retribution, the North Carolina colonial government charged Dudley with assault. Any further information about Sighacka Blount has not been located.
