Angus Morris McDonald was born on August 22, 1866, in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. McDonald was the Recorder of Deeds (1898 to 1906) and a member and later chairman of the Mecklenburg County Board of Commissioners. At the time of his death in 1926, he was serving the state of North Carolina as a deputy income tax collector. He died in Charlotte on March 12, 1926.
