Sir we the colored people of the city of Goldsboro, and county of Wayne, convey to you the following-

Resolved- being assembled on this National Holiday, July 4, 1919, that we send our unbounded appreciation to you, our highest executive, for your most noble stand you are taking in our behalf with reference to the proposed order of the Ku Klux Klan.

Our hearts go out to you sir in your powerful defense of our people, against wrong of any kind.
