Sometime ago I was informed that some person had filed the charge against me of making false statements in my claim for exemption. I have been trying to find out who made this charge but learn that you have ordered the name withheld.

As for the charge I can only state that it is a sneaking, malicious lie and I stand ready to prove it such at any time you or any authorized officer desires a complete statement of my own and my wife’s finances.

Since you were so ready through the authorities here to have my word questioned and my claim challenged, I now call on you to show your sincerity and fairness by having your informant prove his charge. If he can not prove it, I demand that you apply the same law to him for making false statements as to the military enrollment as he would have you apply to me.
