Circular Dispatch Inviting Enlistments, 1755
Though Colonel Blakeney will be dispatch'd as soon as possible, with His Majty's. more particular Instructions, and Directions to you yet, that no Time may be lost, It is His Mty's. Pleasure, That, immediately upon the Receipt of this Letter, you should <The Words underlined to be omitted in the Letters to the Govrs. etc. of Connecticut and Rhode Island. 2. Whether They should not also be omitted in the Letters to the Govrs. of Pensylvania, and Maryland which must depend upon Their being, or not being, Councils, in those two Colonies.> summon a Council, and communicate to them His Majesty's Orders, for the better Enabling you to put them in Execution; and that you should also forthwith issue a Proclamation, in the proper Form, Inviting His Majty's. Subjects, within your Government, chearfully to inlist in this Service, and assuring them of a proper Encouragement for that Purpose.
