Biographical Description

Evan Ellis was a resident of Bladen County, North Carolina by 1735. An owner of enslaved people, in 1753 Ellis served on a local freeholders court when it heard a case involving Cato, an enslaved man charged with attempted murder. Ellis died sometime after 1765.
