Biographical Description

Jonathan Dunbibin was a merchant and Register of Deeds in Wilmington, North Carolina during the revolutionary era. In 1777 he served on a justice on a court of freeholders that found Jim, an enslaved man, guilty of theft. He later served as a major in the New Hanover Regiment of the North Carolina Militia. Dunbibin died in Wilmington before April 1785.
