Biographical Description

Levi Munden was born in Pasquotank County, North Carolina on December 19, 1749. A prominent Quaker minister and teacher, he served as the clerk for the Eastern Quarter of North Carolina's Quakers in 1782. Munden later moved to Indiana, likely to escape the harsh laws placed on Quakers in North Carolina. He died in Washington County, Indiana on March 12, 1826.
