Biographical Description

Josiah White was born in Perquimans County, North Carolina on June 1, 1750. A Quaker, he authored a petition on behalf of the Perquimans Quakers to the North Carolina General Assembly in 1779, concerning the requirement of all citizens of the state to swear an oath of allegiance. He died in Perquimans in about February 1808.
