Thompson Mason Rector was born in Sevier County, Tennessee on November 11, 1801. He became a judge for the Jackson County Court of Alabama in 1832. county courts of Jackson County, Alabama, before moving to Texas. He died in Travis County, Texas on February 19, 1892.
