Biographical Description
Claudius Barclay Barbee was born on February 1, 1856, in Harnett County, North Carolina. Barbee was a prominent merchant in Raleigh, North Carolina, and Richmond, Virginia. During World War I, he served as a member of the Soldiers' Business Aid Committee of Wake County. He died on May 26, 1942 in Raleigh.
