Biographical Description
Rufus Calvin Felts was born in Elkin (Surry County), North Carolina, on December 17, 1893. Felts was a farmer and later a powerhouse electrician in Elkin. During the July 1916 flood, Felts lost his entire crop. He died in Virginia Beach, Virginia, on February 11, 1977.
