Biographical Description

Francis Scott Key was born in Frederick County, Maryland on August 1, 1779. Best known as the author of "The Star-Spangled Banner," he also served as a District Attorney for the District of Columbia from 1833 to 1841. He died in Baltimore, Maryland on January 11, 1843.
