Mildred Moye was born in Pitt County, North Carolina on April 14, 1752. In 1773 she married Jehu Tyson. The Tysons owned enslaved people and in 1778 an enslaved boy named Jim Bowser died of wounds sustained by Mildred's husband Jehu. The Tysons later moved to Anson County, North Carolina, where Mildred died on January 3, 1819.
