Biographical Description

Jim was an enslaved African American man, possibly owned by Thomas Amis. In 1784 Amis wrote to Richard Bennehan that he intended to take Jim with him to Norfolk, Virginia, where Amis hoped that Jim could help him find Charles Thompson, an enslaved man that had run away from Bennehan. Any further information about Jim has not been located.
